In 2009, the number of exhibitors had not yet passed the 300 mark. By 2012, dmexco, the trade fair for digital marketing and advertising, has reached a whole new scale. Bigger, faster, further, with ever new and changing opportunities: what is true of the internet in general is true of dmexco too.
This year’s dmexco in Cologne opens its doors today, Wednesday 12 September 2012. As an agency, we will be making our way between the stands of Google, IQ Media, Tomorrow Focus & Co. more than once to track down and assess the industry’s latest trends.
On social media…
… we will look at the different approaches for working out what impact social media marketing has on companies and brands. Our main focus is on the talks “Brand Perception and the Value of Social Marketing” and “Consumers love Brands not Banners”. We will also pay close attention to bid management, which IntelliAd and others are now integrating and which is increasingly finding its way into social media.
On Google and SEM…
… we expect news on the “(R)evolution of Search”. The debate here is about how the steadily growing number of searches from smartphones and tablets is shaping search engine marketing campaigns. The talk “The Future of Search” looks at how search is becoming ever more personalised and what that means for search engine marketing.
On online marketing in general…
… one talk stands out above all: “Leaving TV behind: The future of impactful online video commercial”. It argues that the detailed tracking available online shows the value of marketing campaigns better than classic TV formats can. The talk “Multiscreen Commercialization: Leading the Shift to a Digital Supermedium” explores multiscreening using the example of the German Bundesliga. The Bundesliga can now be watched on a range of devices through services such as SkyGo. How can marketers make use of them? Being able to access premium content on so many different devices opens up a field with huge potential for advertisers.
